Congratulations to Kerry McInnis who has won this year’s Holding Redlich People’s Choice Award with a portrait of sculptor Harrie Fasher, exhibited in the 2019 Salon des Refusés at S. H. Ervin Gallery.  On winning this significant award, McInnis said ‘I’m delighted to receive the news that my portrait Drawn in steel (Harrie Fasher) has been selected as the Holding Redlich People’s Choice Award for the Salon des Refusés 2019. Portraying this young female sculptor of steel horses in her rural workshop near Oberon NSW seems to have resonated with the viewing public. The demeanour of the painting is decidedly Australian, and I think the subject is an uplifting example of creative endeavour emerging from a regional community.’
