This exhibition presents a rare opportunity to enjoy a selection of striking paintings and drawings by award winning artist, Margaret Woodward. These works, held in private collections and now offered for sale, are presented in the context of a contemporary living space.During the Art Month festival, this intimate venue provides an opportunity to view collectable pieces outside the gallery and in-situ: within an environment where works merge with life and provide inspiration every day. The show’s focus demonstrates how a range of work by an artist can complement and juxtapose, and deepen our understanding and enjoyment of an artist’s oeuvre.“I enjoy collecting in depth and over time and believe it important to have several works by the same artist from different periods of his career. To have one piece by a great artist is cool, but to have a collection of their works is superb.” (Erling Kagge, art collector)According to Margaret Woodward, a past winner of the prestigious Wynne Prize and Portia Geach Memorial Award, “a good painting is totally balanced so that everything responds to everything else… Within the total piece, however, there has to be unity.”  This impressive exhibition celebrates the artist’s integrated approach to picture-making and the language of line  – the drawing –  the medium for which she is perhaps best known.Date: Saturday 11 March – Sunday 12 MarchTime: 11am – 5pmCost:  FreeWagner Contemporary Private Space110/66 McLachlan Avenue, Rushcutters Bay, Sydney
