“Painting for me is about letting go and getting lost in the process. It is a particular state of mind that I enter into. I must be present. Being completely in the moment is the beauty of mark making and painting for me. It is somewhat similar to dancing. I am engaged in the act of painting with my whole being. The magic of creation happens in this phase between starting and finishing a painting, the liminal. Being in the moment and relying on intuition and practice brings my experience into the world through colour, shape, time and repetitive symbols.”
