Matthew Browne’s new sequence of paintings, titled ‘Moment of Tangency’, embraces the tradition of geometric abstraction whilst exploring a completely different line of thought and action – a contemporary tangency – leading audiences to explore, via visceral effect, ambiguity and infinite geometries of thought and feeling. These large-scale paintings and unique colour relationships encourage viewers to slow down, speculate and contemplate. Wagner Contemporary is thrilled to showcase Matthew Browne’s first solo exhibition in Australia at the 2024 Melbourne Art Fair.
