Al Poulet

Al Poulet

Al Poulet’s abstract paintings capture his relationship with his immediate surroundings. Although they cast off the representational trappings of our reality, each painted mark and visceral line indexes the young artist’s connection to his home in Wedderburn. In Poulet’s work, we are moved to not only observe this landscape, but also become part of it. He infuses a freshness and a vitality into the well established vocabulary of pure abstraction.

Al Poulet’s work has recently been acquired by the prestigious Leeuwin Estate Collection, and features on the 2020 Cabernet Sauvignon ‘Art Series’ label. His work was recently featured in Belle Magazine ‘Sydney Style Home’ 2023 and was presented at Sydney Contemporary in 2022. In 2021, his work was exhibited at Penrith Regional Art Gallery in the joint exhibition, ‘Cummings & Poulet’.

Al Poulet is a graduate of UNSW Art and Design, achieving a Bachelor of Fine Arts (First Class Honours) in 2013 and a Master of Fine Arts in 2017.
