Dagmar Cyrulla’s portrait, ‘A New Beginning’, is noted by the Australian’s art critic, Christopher Allen, in his recent review of the Darling Portrait Prize at the National Portrait Gallery, Canberra. An acclaimed artist in the genre, Dagmar Cyrulla’s work was recently exhibited in this major new national prize. Last year her work was selected for several important portrait prizes, including the Portia Geach Memorial Award, Ravenswood Australian Women’s Art Prize and the BP Portrait Award (National Portrait Gallery, London).
