Wagner Contemporary is thrilled to present new works by Queensland–
based emerging artist Llewellyn Skye. Working predominantly in abstraction
with oil paint but also using acrylic, oil stick and sprays, Skye’s work
reflects a curiosity with paint: It’s tactile nature and expressive from
along with the cohesive range of colours and textures that manifest beneath
her brush. The artists large-scale paintings re intuitive and gestural.
Inspired by flowers and plants both native and garden- they exude energy,
vibrance and a cool aesthetic .
