Genevieve Carroll | Calleen Art Award

Congratulations Genevieve Carroll whose work, ‘A Poem as a Painting’, has been selected for this year’s Calleen Art Award. This important award was established by art patron Mrs Patricia Fagan OAM in 1977 with a focus on painting and supporting innovation, creativity and originality in the visual arts. ‘A Poem As A Painting’ is one of 47 works, selected out of 407 entries, for exhibition in the Finalists’ show. Carroll often draws inspiration from literature and this piece responds to the poem ‘Ode on a Grecian Urn’, by John Keats, which contemplates art, reflection and the brevity of life.
