Min Woo Bang’s 6-metre tall horse lanterns feature in this year’s Lunar Lantern Walk, along the Circular Quay foreshore to the Sydney Opera House. These glowing large-scale lanterns take inspiration from traditional Korean village guardians. The horse totems were traditionally placed at the entrance to the villages to mark boundaries and ward off demons. For the festival, Bang embellished each lantern with traditional Korean floral patterns. These stunning works may be viewed from 31 January to 9 February at Circular Quay.
